Pamukkale stands as a premier attraction in Türkiye, renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty and therapeutic thermal spring waters. The unique chemical composition of these waters has formed stunning white travertines and stepped terraces on the mountainside, earning it the nickname 'Cotton Castle' in Turkish. Adjacent to Pamukkale lies the ancient city of Hierapolis, a remarkable example of a Greco-Roman thermal installation situated amidst this extraordinary natural wonder.
Notably, Hierapolis boasts a remarkably well-preserved ancient theater, adding to the allure of the site. Additionally, near the antique pool, lie the remnants of the Temple of Apollo, featuring a spring named the Plutonium, dedicated to Pluto, the Roman god of the underworld. This spring emits toxic vapors, which were once demonstrated by temple priests to visitors, adding a fascinating layer of history to the site.
